I’m testing out offering visitors the ability to register on my site and create a profile. I want to test forcing login to leave comments. When I log in as a test “Subscriber”, that person can see information via the JetPack plugin. How can this be disabled? All I want subscribers to see is information relative to their Profile. This shouldn’t be this hard.

    Hi there

The Jetpack menu is visible because it’s possible for Subscriber users to connect their account to WordPress.com so they can use certain Jetpack features such as Notifications.

If you don’t want that, there’s a plugin you can use to show the Jetpack menu to admins only, as described here:

    Hope that helps!

I get that the Subscriber may have JetPack installed, but they shouldn’t see information about my site via the Jetpack plugin. There was specific info about my site like traffic info exposed to them when logged in as a Subscriber. That’s a big gap/issue.

They definitely shouldn’t see any private information about your site. I checked this on a test site and Subscribers could not see traffic or any other information about the site. Could you link to a screenshot showing what the subscriber can see on the Jetpack

If you need to keep it private, could you contact us via this contact form and mention this thread?

When I try to upload an image, I get an error message saying that Image uploading is disabled. See screen shot via Dropbox link below.

Do you have this option enabled in your stats settings at Jetpack > Settings > Traffic > Jetpack Stats?

No. That and all the other options in both of those sub sections (“Count Logged In…” and “Allow Jetpack Stats…” are disabled.

I have the first two items at the very top enabled – “Include a small chart…” and “Enable a new Jetpack Stats experience (Experimental)”

In that case, something else may be filtering that setting. You can try deactivating all other plugins to see if you can find what’s causing it, or you can use the plugin I mentioned to only show the Jetpack menu to admins.
