    Hi,

Today I changed how my url reads in the browser (it had number prefixes) and now my posts aren’t being received by subscribers.
I was told that it could be because that new url was not updated for existing Jetpack subscriptions.
I’m not sure how best to describe what I did but I followed these instructions below from my host and it worked. I basically changed it so the url just said mindfulnessman.com and not 11.69.991.mindfulnessman.com (something like that.
Here are the instructions I received:
Right click wp-config.php and select Code Edit. You can now see the username and database.

Next, log into your cPanel. Look for the Databases section.

Select the icon named phpMyAdmin (looks like a sailboat.)

Once here, you need to select the database name on the left. (i.e. “_wrd1”)

This will display the names of the Tables to the right.

Locate and select the Options table.

Next, the database entries are listed in columns and rows. You want to select the pencil icon (for Edit) on the left for line 1 (option_name is “site url”)

Once you’ve clicked the pencil icon, you will see your domain name listed something like this:

    https://example.com/

You want to change that to the URL You wish to use

This step is crucial so you don’t make a mistake. Please take a moment to verify the URL you are typing in here is correct, or you won’t see any change.

Once you’ve changed the URL, down at the bottom there is a “Go” button. Select the “Go” button.

Select the Next button to go to the next page

    Look for the option_name home

    phpMyAdmin Home

Select the pencil icon Pencil to Edit.

Make the same URL change here as you did for siteurl earlier. And click the “Go” button.

    Thanks for the help.

    Kind regards
    Chris

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Jetpack doesn’t seem to be connected to your WordPress.com account anymore. Could you go to the Jetpack menu in your dashboard, and click on the Connect button to activate Jetpack on your site? Once you’ve done so, Jetpack and its modules should start working.

Let me know if it helps.

    Thanks Jeremy,

I’ve done that but I’m still not receiving emails (I’ve subscribed to my own blog to test)

Do you think it’s something to do with me changing how the url looks in the browser?

    Thank you

I had another look at your Jetpack settings, and it’s properly connected now. Could you add the Blog Subscription widget to your sidebar so I can try to subscribe to your site and see if I receive emails?

I had the same problem with today’s post — subscribers were not notified by email. I seem to be connected to Jetpack just fine. It also did not get posted on social media via Publicize. Suggestions?

Just to let you know I had the same issue as well today. No subscriber emails or publicize posts today. Here’s the post link.https://dailyadventuretales.com/new-friends/
    Any updates on what’s up?

    Hi Jeremy,

Sorry, I must have missed your message. I have done that now. Please check and let me know. Thank you very much.

@chrism19 I just tested the subscription widget, and it seems to work properly. You can now find my email address in your subscriber list.

It’s worth noting that confirmation emails are only sent once. If someone already attempted to subscribe but never clicked on the link in the confirmation email, they’ll need to find that email again, or confirm their subscription here:
    https://subscribe.wordpress.com/

If that doesn’t help, could you contact me via email and mention the email addresses that did not receive any confirmation email. We will then check our email logs in order to find out more about the problem.

    Hi Jeremy,

I just created a post and I didn’t receive an email.
I am subscribed in the same way as my subscribers were so I am sure that they are not receiving the emails also.
I have no idea of telling which email addresses are receiving them or not, they don’t appear to be as the interaction has died off.

If you give me your email I will email you.

    Thanks for the help
