Hi–when subscribers get an email from our blog using the jetpack subscribe function, the text of the email includes shortcode. For example:

[dropcap custom_class="normal"]I[/dropcap]can almost feel my mother's disapproval all the way from the Midwest as I write this. We are rhubarb purists. Rhubarb tastes delicious without adding strawberries, raspberries, or any other sweet fruit that might compromise the mouth-puckering tartness that makes rhubarb special.
(That is a cut and paste from an email)

How do I prevent that from happening, either by sending proper HTML to subscribers or plain text?

    Thanks!

  • I have the same problem. I’d like to see the output the shortcode is supposed to give in the mail.

I hope this particular problem can be solved soon!

Hi there! Unfortunately at this time, any shortcode that isn’t supported by Jetpack is not parsed by our email notifications system and instead displays the shortcode in plain text in the email notification.

I did open a new GitHub issue for this particular item – you can follow that issue for any updates or further information. Here’s the link for your reference:

I hope that helps! Marking as resolved as it’s a known issue.

Thanks, Carolyn, for opening the ticket! I’ve commented there and I’ll follow it ??
