Subscription failed at checkout

Upon checking out, customers email addresses failed to be added to mailchimp list.
I received the error message linked above.
After checking the settings tab in Woo – the API key was not registering. I have had successful subscriptions with it for about 3 weeks – just started playing up now.
Oddly this morning it is recognising the API key again – I want to find out what went wrong though as I will now have to manually add the missed subscriptions to MC.
Any help would be great. Also will the plugin be okay with the new version of Woo before I update?
