Success message delayed after user submits form

  • I’m having a recent problem on one of my sites – when a user submits the form, it takes 45 – 60 seconds for the submission message to appear. The email does get sent, but to the user it doesn’t appear to be working.

    This is not happening on its twin site, which has all the same plugins and updates. It has only started happening recently (within the last couple of weeks as far as I can tell).

    Both sites are on WP 4.4.1 with the latest version of WPCF7. They’re both hosted on the same linux server, though they’re using separate databases and domain names. The contact forms on both sites are identical.

    Disabling all plugins except WPCF7 hasn’t helped.

    Any ideas?
