• Has anyone had success using some type of image gallery plugin for WordPress 1.2.1?
I have tried, PictPress, IImage Gallery, and Exhibit. They have failed to work one way on another.
I actually like PictPress alot but it won’t work properly with more than 3 pictures in a single post. Are there any other plugins someone would recommend? Thanks.

  • rhealz:
you got it from the source. indeed, since you are in a sub folder, you need to direct it back to the source.
    ../
indeed. sorry i forgot about that step.

yes indeed. step 0a depends entirely on step 0 to work.
so be sure you first install the gallery as describen in Paul’s read me before moving on to worry about how it looks.

Given the amount of discussion here (and the traffic it has been sending to my site), I think I’ll whip up a few pre-packaged versions of SPG that are configured to integrate into WordPress out of the box, that might be useful. Not to mention that it might inspire me to finally integrate my gallery into my templates ;P
Oh, and thanks to everyone here who has chipped in with advice for those who are struggling with SPG, I am woefully behind on answering questions…

    *cheer*
i’ll write one up for doing it with Kubrick if you need me to.
    thanks Paul, you rock!

    A’ight, she’s done.
Check the site for the new version of SPG:
    Relatively Absolute
A bit hasty, but I believe everything is in order there. Enjoy!

    Thanks Paul!
nevermind my instructions (unless you like the hard way like i do)
download wp-spg 1.1 from the link above and take a break.

    dss,
do you realize that your “tutorial” above – if #3. executed – would result in a page (file) that has 2 head sections, 2 body sections, 2 encodings… etc ?
I don’t think it’s ever a good idea to put a whole index file in the middle of another index file ??

I’ve been using Gallery v1.4.4 and WordPress 1.3 for some time now and I’ve had zero problems. The only modifications I’ve had to make was two files…. to include my website header and footer, thats it.

I’ve been trying to get Gallery 1.4.4 to work for ages but I can’t get the layout corect.. can you give any tips?

    navid and anon…
I think you are referring to a different gallery system. Currently, Paul’s SPG – Simple PHP Gallery – is at version 1.1.

I have 2 questions. if you want to use this on a gallery page only do you create a separate template?

Also on Pauls site/blog he has the images as thumbnails along with text. is this a plug in we can download?

I’ve been using the curioso pictpress plugin:
    https://www.curioso.org/2004/05/pictpress
works very well on wp 1.5.

    hi!
i’ve been using gallery in wordpress as well – it embedded perfectly since about yesterday when i upgraded to 1.5beta and to the newest gallery version – but i’ll get it going again.
if you wanna know how it’s done – i’ve put the tutorila i received by Ken Rodriguez up on my website: https://www.energylab.de/wordpress/index.php?static=wp-gallery-howto
    cheers
