• As much as this is a support forum, I know some people scan these threads to decide whether or not to upgrade… so this is a topic for those of us who had a smooth transition! Despite having all kinds of customizations, everything went quite well for me. I upgraded from 2.0.4 to 2.1 without trouble. Kudos to the dev team for all the new goodies!

    Anyone else do well? ??

  • Mine went ok except for the code to call the links which are now under Blogroll.

Agree with Xander perhaps some good news help. I tried few one-click upgrade from various old versions 1.5.2, 2.0.1….to 2.1 all without problem. I even didn’t deactivate plugins and kept my own theme during upgrade, see experience here

Zero issues encountered, not even with links. I tested it on a local copy first and found 1 plugin (CJD Notepad) that didn’t work, which I really wasn’t using any way. Didn’t bother re-activating it when upgrading the live site. Hope this helps.

No problem 2.0.5 to 2.1 – just the usual upgrade process.

HOWEVER, I’m using Firefox 1.5.0.9 on OSX and the spell checker (feature most excited about) doesn’t work!! It seems to run, but doesn’t find any mis-spellings. Pretty much all my clients use Internet Explorer so from their point of view it’s fine – any feedback from anyone on this or am I doing something wrong?

I have Yahoo! Small Business web hosting and have heard about this mythical one-click upgrade to WordPress. I have never found this utility and wonder if there is a link, either in WordPress or Yahoo!, to more information.

I don’t know about Yahoo small biz hosting (with them for 2 weeks then left) but most hosting offers cPanel with Fantastico which is an add-on software for hassle free automated installation/upgrade of open source software such as WordPress.

You’ll have to ask Yahoo to find out if they offer that.
