• I feel I have to say a word of encouragement to the development team of Gutenberg, so many people express too much hate about the plugin.

For me other popular visual page builders like Divi, Visual Composer, etc are just too heavy, clumsy, and sometimes too slow. And they feel alien and unnatural to WordPress experience.

The day Gutenberg notice appeared in admin panel, it’s been a great relief. It IS a relief that this thing is being implemented! Finally, WordPress has it’s own “native” visual builder. And it just looks and feels natural to WordPress.

Some have mentioned it would be good idea to keep the classic editor and offer Gutenberg as a plugin in future. May be worth considering this scenario depending on user feedback. For example, some developers might prefer to stick with the Classic editor and use a third party builder. I just hope there will be a decent compatibility between Classic and Gutenberg.

A lot of effort has been made to develop the plugin up to this stage. It’s normal to have bugs and glitches early in the development. This is why it’s still being tested and not offered by default. But I hope the development team will continue to work on it and make it stable. Keep up the good work!

  • Have you even tried it? It’s NOTHING close to one of the many serious page builders around. Is just a more complex way to do same things that you can already do, with a couple more functionalities and a much heavier JS behind.
Is like they add a toaster to your cell phone.
