Sudden 404 on all subdomain sites
-
This morning all our subdomain sites are directing to a 404 page. Was using wp version 4.2 so I updated to 4.2.1 and updated the network to see if it would fix, unfortunately it did not.
Steps I’ve taken.
1. Shut off all plugins.
2. uninstalled and re-installed WordPress MU Domain Mapping plugin.
3. activated WordPress MU Domain Mapping plugin and followed direction. Placed the sunrise.php file in the wp-content directory. Added define( ‘SUNRISE’, ‘on’ ); above the last require_once() in the wp-config file. Now when selecting ‘Domain Mapping’ or ‘Domains’ options under the Setting menu item I receive the message:
“Please edit your /home/typeshif/public_html/wp-config.php and move the line define( ‘SUNRISE’, ‘on’ ); above the last require_once() in that file or make sure you updated sunrise.php.”
This message is in a constant loop, can’t get to any settings so I shut the plugin off and installed ‘Domain Mapping’ plugin by WPMU DEV.
This plugin displays, under Mapping Domain > Health Status, “Invalid.” This requires me to edit individual settings for the subdomain which I cannot because accessing the subdomain dashboard sends me to a 404 page.
Any direction to help me get this resolved would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time in advance!!
