sudden problem with cached bad IP

  • Hi,

    im using WP 3.5 but menu wont let me choose it.

    I have been running this fantastic plugin for manay onths without any issue, until today.

    Suddenly I am getting all users reporting Access Denied issues with the following message:

    Access Denied
    This site is protected by the Stop Spammer Registrations.
    Cached bad ip
    xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

    They are all different IP address and are users that have never experienced a problem accessing the site before today.

    I dont run any other caching plugins, other than “WP Widget Cache” which has been running for many weeks.

    Has anything changed?

  • Nothing new has changed. I have not released the next version of the plugin. Something must have changed at your end. Cloudflare is causing problems. Some firewalls cache the pages so if a spammer tried something and the page was cached then your users will see the page cached by the spammer hit.

    Deactivate and uninstall the plugin. If you can’t do that go in to your server via FTP and delete the plugin from the plugins directory.

    If the problem persists then it is a caching issue. Try reloading the page to see if it is a browser cache. If the plugin is deleted and can’t execute and you still get the message then something very strange is going on.
