• Hello,

I wanted to work on my webpage today after a few days break and suddenly all my videos are no longer showing correctly. I am using elementor to create my page and all the videos are on youtube and embedded onto my webpage.

All the videos on all different subpages are affected. They show in the correct width, but with very low height. The Playbutton is there and you can click on it. It wil start the video, but in a tiny size.

On my laptop it is the same, on my phone too, but only when I hold it in landscape-mode (otherwise it shows correctly). I asked a friend and he also told me the videos does show in this small bar where barely anything is visible at all.

I have been trying to create a new page an to add a video there with elementor and the problem occurs again right away. I tried to add a video with the wordpress editor there it will show in the correct size.

If anyone could help with with this issue, I would be super grateful. Thank you so much.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

• Hi,Since you are an Elementor Pro user, you can open a support ticket at my.elementor.com</a>.

I’d also suggest you check out our Elementor Community forum, we have created it to connect Elementor users together and share knowledge, my.elementor.com</a>.

www.ads-software.com rules state that commercial products are not supported here.

Hi robotheater,

I am another Elementor user/customer who has the same problem with the Elementor free version and I also reported it. As Elementor did not provide a solution yet, I would like to assist you in rendering your videos correctly in the meantime until Elementor fixes the bug.

You can revert/ roll back to a former version of Elementor, in this case to 3.10.2, and the videos will be shown as before. Prior to reverting, please make a backup. Then you can re-install the former Elementor version from the backend at Elementor / Tools (Werkzeuge) / Version Control / Rollback Version (Wiederherstellungsversion) 3.10.2. Voilà! Then everything should look like before (if not, empty cache and refresh browser after reverting).

Hope this helps!

Hi!

Hi @smochen

there is no solution yet, I think. you could try the solution @adalov suggested.
I still have to take care of my videos, just didn’t have the time yet and didn’t know how to quickly do the reset to a previous version either.

let me know if resetting to an older elementor version works, in case you try it.

best wishes

@adalov, thanks for your reply! and sorry for not getting back to you earlier. i am yet to try the solution that you suggested as I am afraid of returning to an earlier version. Never made a backup and also used it. so in case things go wrong, I would know what to do. But I can google it when I find time and then try it.
However, I had also thought I might be able to simply sit it out. but two weeks into the problem now, the videos still don’t show correctly. Heard anything from elementor?

Best wishes

@lianakap I am not really an Elementor-Pro User: I had the webpage set up by a content agency that has a pro licence. but when i try to go to pro support it tells me that I don’t have an active pro licence. I asked the content agency and they said that this was correct, because it its their licence.
So, any help on the issue with the videos is very much appreciated, because it still persists. it is only embedded youtube-videos that have this problem. videos that I host myself in the media upload work fine:

here is the link to the webpage: Kontakt – Yvonne Dicketmüller (yvonnedicketmueller.de) one of the subpages with the video that does not show correctly.

thanks for your help

@robotheater for backups, you could install UpdraftPlus https://de.www.ads-software.com/plugins/updraftplus/, if you do not already have it. This gives you the possibility to reinstall backups with just a few clicks directly in the WordPress backend. Plus you can also reinstall backed-up plugins only. So if, in your case, reverting to Elementor 3.10.2 would go wrong, you could reinstall the previous plugin version via Elementor version control OR via UpdraftPlus. The procedure in a few steps:

1. Install UpDraftPlus plugin
2. Run a backup with UpDraftPlus. Check if backup success message / log is correct: “The backup apparently succeeded and is now complete” ??
3. Revert to Elementor 3.10.2 as described in previous message. Check if videos show correctly. IF IT GOES WRONG:
4. Reinstall plugins backup via UpdraftPlus

And no, Elementor has not provided a solution for this bug yet although several customers/users have reported it over the last 2 weeks. In the meantime they went from delaying answers / saying that they do not see an issue at all to stating that the issue “is not consistently reproduced”. So, it looks as if this might take a looong time to get resolved. As Elementor has lots of (YouTube) videos on elementor.com (academy) and they still use 3.10, my last hope is that in the moment they update their own website to 3.11, they might get active a bit faster ;).

@adaov your solution was genius & worked like a charm. Thank you!! Now hopefully Elementor will fix the problem on their end so we can do necessary updates…

@adalov – thanks for the information that v3.10.2 works! Made the rollback and yes, here we go. As an Elementor Pro user I made a support ticket but did not receive an answer yet.

Update: Got an answer from the Elementor Pro support – they are aware of this bug but can’t tell when it will be fixed…

@adalov thank you so much for your answer the description of how to make a makeup. i will try it and see how it works. thank you so much!!!

@smochen thanks for updating me, and thank you for submitting the ticket! I am glad to hear about your experience with going back to a previous elementor version. I will do the same, now. thanks for this exchange.

@logisticscm @smochen @robotheater you are welcome!

By the way, according to Elementor, the new update 3.11.4 that was just released is supposed to fix the issue (in some browsers?). You could try and it would be interesting to hear about your experiences in the browsers you are testing (especially Safari, Firefox, Chrome). I still see the issue at least in Safari (14) after updating to 3.11.4. If it doesn’t work for you either, you can always go back to 3.10.2 again …

(@robotheater)

@adalov I just tried it, but version 3.11.5 screwed up the videos again. so I am back to 3.10.2

Hi @robotheater, sorry to hear about that. Which browser(s) did you test?

(@robotheater)

@adalov: only chrome
