I have a website that is very image intensive and has thousands of images over hundreds of pages. I have been developing this site for months with no issues with BB except some low memory issues I fixed in PHP. The error occurs in every browser, and I have logged in and out of WordPress several times to the same issue.

Suddenly, I cannot edit or add BB modules. I deactivated and reactivated BB and Themer to no effect. The pages load in BB fine but clicking any of the edit icons has no effect except for the Move Icon which for some reason still works.

I have not gotten any WordPress errors.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • I would suggest you share your URL to investigate properly.
Are there errors being thrown in the browser error console?

    The site is https://www.minoxblog.com

There are no errors of any kind – I was adding images to a page and suddenly the modules cannot be edited anymore.

Does the issue occur on all pages or just one or some pages?

Secondly, you said you don’t get any error of any kind. Are you looking in the browser console for errors when you are attempting to add modules to the page or attempting to click the icons?

If you’re not sure how to do that, here’s a handy link: https://screenful.com/how-to-open-the-browser-console

Then, keep that open while you are attempting to add modules or click the icons and see if any errors show up. I’d suspect there is something in there.

Lastly, check to see if disabling plugins (except BB) and your theme temporarily changes anything. (Note: this means disabling 3rd party BB add-ons too)

If you’d rather not disable plugins/theme on a live site, check out the Health Check Plugin as it has a troubleshooting mode where it only disables things for your user.

There’s a more detailed description about how to use the Health Check plugin and its Troubleshooting Mode at https://make.www.ads-software.com/support/handbook/appendix/troubleshooting-using-the-health-check/`

I am so upset – I logged into my cPanel and my hosting company had redirected the website to another of my websites. (Thanks for the browser console tip – it showed nothing but 404 errors obviously.)

The redirect was deleted and now the site seems to work again. At least I can add and edit modules again.

    Thanks for your help.
