• Hi,

I had a good time editing my website a few days ago, but yesterday when I opened my local host site, I found that I could not access the admin area.

It will be much appreciated if anyone would like to offer some potential solutions!

  • Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

note: you dont need remote access to localhost install, just use your file manager, no ftp or sftp is needed

    Hi,

Thank you all for your replies! Unfortunately none of the solutions work on my computer, but I’ve managed to solve the issue by directly entering https://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin/ which redirected me to wp login page and now everything’s working perfectly.

Thank you again for your help!
