Suddenly my WordPress site will not load

  • Hi all.

    I have a WordPress site: blog.chrisbrighton.co.uk

    Yesterday, it was all fine. My friend set it all up for me, gave me the username and password, I logged in and got started with the site by adding posts etc.

    Today, I loaded up the site and Chrome says “Oops! Google Chrome could not find blog.chrisbrighton.co.uk”.

    I’ve no idea what has happened, as I mentioned, it was all OK yesterday and now I can’t load it! Also when I connect via SFTP via Cyberduck it says “blog.chrisbrighton.co.uk: nodename nor servname provided, or not known.”

    I did install the Google Analytics plug-in but surely that wouldn’t break the site?

    I appreciate suggestions like plug-ins may interfere with the site (I see people that are having similar issues have been told to disable plug-ins) but I can’t log in to disable the plug-ins!

    Any help is welcome.

  • This looks like a server issue – not a WordPress one. Try asking your friend about it.
