    Hello+

Our eCommerce website is suddenly having issues with the Password Reset Email not sending for end-users trying to recover/reset their pw for their accounts.

I have tested and do NOT get a pw reset email when triggered from the checkout page (though it does provide a success message). I did check my spam box & it is not there either. To get to this you need to go to: Shop > add something to your cart > proceed to checkout > click “returning customer? click here to login” > click “lost password”

I have tested and DO get a pw reset email when triggered from the WordPress back-end access page (which has the “Lost your password?” link). To get to this go to back-end login & click “lost your password?”

Both Lost Password links go to the same page URL (that URL is provided within this form). I am using WP v. 4.9.5 & the most recent version of the theme we have installed.

I am wondering why/how that Password Reset email would be triggered when getting to that page URL one way, but not triggered when getting to the same page URL the other way. And, how/why it suddenly stopped working… But, most importantly, what steps I can take to fix it?

    Please advise. Thank you, +ES

Looks like you are using woocommerce.

I recommend asking at https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/woocommerce so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.

    Hi+

Thank you for the quick response…. I am using WooCommerce, however, it is not a WooCommerce issue as all WooCommerce Emails (“New Order”, “Cancelled Order”, etc.) are working and getting to the expected recipients.

ONLY the Password Reset Email is not getting to the end-user that is trying to reset his/her password… Please advise.

    Thanks!

    – Ask your hosting provider what’s going on (e.g., if any of their SMTP filtering rules have changed recently; If for some reason your notification emails have been simply queued. etc.)
    – Also ask them if you need to setup SMTP. If you do, then you can use a plugin for it. for example: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/search/smtp/
    – Here are some ideas on how to fix this problem https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-wordpress-not-sending-email-issue/

    Hello+

    Status update & steps I took…

This issue is Resolved – yay!

I reached out to the Website Host Provider (not the email account provider) and they “cleared the the common woocommerce cache exclusions” for this WordPress Install with the WooCommerce Plugin.

    Those pages are:
    /my-account
    /shop
    /cart
    /checkout

I then tested from the shop-checkout page (process described above) and received the Reset Password Email as expected.

    Thank you @t-p!
