• Last couple of days, I have been getting couple of lockout for various IPs from the plugin, which means everything is working fine.

Today, I went to the login page to login and fill the username and password of the admin user… Then I see a plain HTML page contains this code:

    ?¨?3?¨?¨ ?¥?ˉ???§ù??§?aù? ?§ù????§?·?|?? ?§ù??1?ˉù??ˉ???? ù?ù??ˉ ?aù… ?-?°?±ù? ?¨?§ù?ù??§ù…ù? ù…ù? ?§ù?ù…ù?ù??1.

Tried again, then WordPress forward the example.com/wp-admin (after successful login) to the 404 error page. (/not_found).

Now I’m kind of locked out…

I tried to login with another editor account… And I logged in successfully now.

So what happened to my admin user? Any explanations?

Maybe the hacker/bot tried to login with the same username of the admin user I use, but with a wrong password and blocked the username completely?

    That’s odd…

I mean, I followed the right practices of making the admin username different than the author username on his page on WordPress.

If it was a hacker/bot how did he know the right username of the admin?
