• Hey folks,

two weeks ago I′ve discovererd a strange thing on my site. Suddenly, WordPress began to sort my frontpage posts randomly and on a daily basis, setting the publish date to the latest (today) and shifting my oldest posts at the very top.

I didn′t used a plugin to sort posts before and can′t figure out on my own what causes this bug..

    Any help is much appreciated!

    Thanks!!

  • What theme are you using? Did you run updates to the theme? Sometimes themes accidentally change settings on an update.

    Hey,

I′m using Lipode Adsos Theme for a while now. 3 months ago I used the bimber viral theme from themeforest. Everything ran smooth, but two weeks ago my website started to shuffle the content. I mean, the date of several posts is updating to todays date, day by day. A lot of my ancient posts (from 2010) are getting the latest date from today, just like I set them as favourite posts.

Only thing I changed is my social plugin from sumome to warfareplugins, the rest is the same. My website is dekomilch.de

This does not answer my question. Did you run an update to your theme? Either way, I think your best bet for support will be to contact support the the theme by going here: https://www.lipode.com/support/.

Sorry my bad! No, since I′m using this theme there were no updates. Still v.1.
Do you think the theme is causing such a bug? I′m just curious, because this bug came out of nowhere.

IF you look at the posts from the backend, have the ‘published on’ dates changed? It would also be helpful if you posted a link to your site.

There have not even been minor updates to the theme?!? Also, please do as @sterndata has requested and check if the dates are changed in the backend. That is very useful info to us.

My site is dekomilch.de .. This is so weird. Looking at my backend and frontend, my post dates (and also the post arrangement) changes few times a day. I′m discovering, that only 3-5 posts are acting this way, the rest seem to be stable (but I should take daily backend screenshots to be 100% shure).

@davood yes, sadly no updates. I′ve purchased this theme 2 years ago, but using it actively for about few months.

Unfortunately it sounds like you’re site has been hacked. Review this article: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/FAQ_My_site_was_hacked

so what could be changing the dates of those posts? Hacked maybe? Rogue plugin?

Try manually resetting the dates of those posts. You can easily do that from the quick edit link on the list of all posts on the dashboard. If the dates change later, then some more investigation is required.

@ davood no way, really? Can I check it somehow if it was hacked?
@ sterndata okay, I′ve set 3 posts back to 2014. I′ll wait a day or two and then we will see..

I′ll come back to you. Regarding Hacking, is it worth to install some security plugins afterwards to fix or detect a possible hack?

I can almost guarantee you it has. Review the article I linked you to and install wordfence. Once wordfence is installed run the scanner.

I′m reading right now. Also made a wordfence scan:

Comparing core WordPress files against originals in repositoryProblems found.

    An this is the output

    https://dekomilch.de/?_wfsf=diff&nonce=09c0e1ca22&file=wp-settings.php&cType=core&cKey=&cName=&cVersion=”>

    Is it something bad?

    (@sebanek)

Sadly, after 30 minutes one of my posts (date changed to 2014) came back to 22.07.2016 date..Confusing, isn′t it?

Yes, unfortunately the output from wordfence is bad news. Your site has been hacked. My suggestion would be for you to follow the instructions in the article I linked you to. If your not confident you can do what it’s saying you’ll want to consider posting a job over at jobs.wordpress.net to find someone who can help you.

we cannot see admin pages on your site, but if wordfence is reporting that there are files that differ or are not part of core; you’re hacked.
