Suffusion – Need Home Page Ideas Help Magic

Having an extremely difficult time finding any kind of home page plugin or set up to promote better access to top content and to help direct users. I know there is a magazine layout and have spent days messing with it. In the end the magazine layout lacks customization and futuristic edgy look.
Would be nice to find something that resembled a Pinterest layout or some continuous loading. Multiple columns for different things would be nice.
Google and other places are not giving me what i need for information. I absolutely refuse to switch themes for a home page. I cant find anything specifically to remodel the home page that automatic and doesnt require a manual update when new content is in place. As awesome as WordPress is there still so much to do.
If anybody has any ideas for some high quality home page optimization I’m all ears.
