    1: planned feature to disable admin bar for each role, challenge with restricting admin access is that it blocks media upload (at least the way it is done in Theme My Login), but will give it a go, as it make sense

    2: should this be as a widget ? Could also add it as an additional option for the existing widget My post widget ???

    3: I use subscribe2 for all my notifications, but will evaluate a simple email to admin if a post is published from frontend, if submitted for approval to admin I believe WP will send email.

    1 (disable admin bar) and 2 (post count) is implemented in latest release 1.5.1

    3 I suggest to use one of the existing notification plugins
