Very often I get the notification from Complianz on the WP admin panels that I need to go through step two of the wizard. I am not sure why, because I really haven’t change anything on the site. But okay, something has changed in the cookies.

So then I need to go through the cookie setup:
    1 – delete the cookies
    2 – scan for cookies
3 – connect to the cookie descriptions
4 – connect to service descriptions

I also need to click through the intermediate steps in the Wizard, but nothing has changed there, of course.

Wouldn’t it be much easier to have a single button that would do all the steps 1 to 4 above (since I always need to do all of them, if I understand the functioning correctly) and also that would not force me (redundantly) to go through the other steps?

Just a suggestion that would make these frequent notifications from Complianz less annoying.

    Hi @bkwineper,

This notification is currently set when new cookies are found. However, the sync with CookieDatabase.org will run automatically as well, so in theory you shouldn’t need to go through this process every time, as most is dealt with in the background.

We will narrow down the conditions for the notification, so this only occurs when we find a cookie that belongs to a service that is not currently described in your Cookie Policy.

    Thanks for your feedback!
    Kind regards,

    Thanks for the response.

So does that mean that the only thing one needs to do is a) clear cookies, and then b) do a new scan?

And the two following steps (cookie descriptions & service descriptions) will happen automatically?

No need to clear and re-scan. The notice means a new cookie is found in the background scan. The notice is mainly meant to ensure that you know which cookies are shown on your cookie policy. A double check.

    Thanks Rogier.

However, the message on the dashboard says “Please review step 2 of the wizard for change in cookies.”

And I have the impression that the only way to get rid of the notification message is to clear and rescan. How else do I get rid of the notification of the message (the red circle with a “1” in it) that shows on the left-hand menu of the WP panel?

    Hi @bkwineper,

You can always dismiss the notification by clicking the grey “X” behind it. This will get rid of the red circle with +1. Schermafbeelding-2021-08-20-om-16-26-08

Thank you Jarno. I had not noticed that x. It does exactly that. ??
