• Suggestion – it would be great if I could add notes from any screen WP Admin, rather than just the dashboard. It’s fine to go back to the dashboard to see the notes, but when I’m working in one screen and think of a note, it’s a pain to have to go back to the dashboard to make a note.

If it’s possible, it would be great to have the “Add Note” function in the Screen Options menu from every WP Admin screen.

    Just my two cents!

    Hi,

    Thanks for your suggestion.

I think its a good idea. Not so simple to implement, I’m gonna give it a thought about if and how.

    Cheers,

    Jeroen

+ 1 on this, so we can add notes to specific admin pages. There is other plugin that seems to provide this feature but has not been updated since 2 years:

    Hi jpjares,

    Sorry for not responding earlier.

I think your suggestion is a bit different than digigirls’.
If I understand correctly, you want to show notes (/notices) on admin pages, while digigirl suggests to make it possible to add dashboard notes from different admin pages.

(please do correct me if i’m wrong)

I’ve decided that this will not be a near-future feature, as I want to keep the plugin as clean as possible, and there does not seem to be a lot of demand for such option.

    Have a nice day ::-)

    Hi Jeroen,
Your plugin is very useful. Congratulations!

I’d like to suggest a feature: when we have some notes published the plugin could show a colored baloon in a new ‘Site Notes’ section of the left admin menu as WordPress does with unapproved comments or plugins updates, for example.

The old and outdated plugin ‘Dashboard Site Notes’ (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/admin-dashboard-site-notes) creates a new section in left admin menu.

Your plugin is practically ‘hidden’ in Dashboard.

When ‘site notes’ were in draft mode, the colored balloon would not be shown.
In this way, the other administrator users would know about the new notes more easily.

    * You could implement ‘bold’, ‘italic’, ‘code’, ‘tags’, etc like the other plugin I mentioned above.

Thank you a lot for your attention!

    Hi Marcos,

Thank you for the kinds words ?? and the future request.

I purposely didn’t want to have another menu item in de left menu as there usually are already SOOO many menu items in there, so I didn’t want to add anything more with this plugin.

You can do some simple functions like making text strong by using shortcuts like CTRL/CMD + B or CTRL/CMD + I for example.

Thanks for the suggestions, its appreciated ??

    Cheers,
    Jeroen

    Hi Jeroen,

    Sorry for the late answer.

These shortcuts you suggested will be very usefull.

    Thank you very much!!!

I just downloaded this plugin, and I think I will find it very useful for my particular purposes. I don’t mind only being able to access it from one place. When I work I tend to have multiple admin tabs open anyway, so having one always open to dashboard for the notes is not a problem for me. Maybe this suggestion can help someone else.

One suggestion Jeroen. You might want to make it obvious to new downloaders that they can only access the notes from that one admin page, because at first I didn’t think it worked and almost deleted it.

    Thanks Katrina,

Thats some valid feedback, any suggestions on how to do that? I’m thinking of a peace of text within that screenshot..

    Thanks ??

    Jeroen
