Start charging 49/year minimum for the plugin. Or at least a Pro version of it. It hurts me seeing the number of installs and the total number of monthly sponsors, I don’t use the plugin myself but it’s only fair you get paid for this amazing tool.

Hi B. Thanks for the suggestion and support. Financially, my goal with ASE is two-fold:

    1. A generous and useful free version that will be the 1st, free plugin in the WordPress ecosystem to get significant donation / sponsorship… significant enough to replace a day job salary, at least by developing nation standards. There is still hope. I consider what ASE has now as a good start, and it can only get better. ??
    2. I’m working on a Pro version that will offer an enhanced version of the existing free features, and pro-only features. Aiming for release towards the end of the year, sooner if possible. I’m still torn whether to offer it with annual subscription only, or with a lifetime price/updates that’s bundled with limited support (thinking of 1st year only). Do you have any thoughts on that?

Thanks again. It’s refreshing to see this type of encouragement. ??

By the way, curious to know the reason you’re not using ASE yourself. I’m guessing you prefer carefully curated set of single-purpose plugins?

Got it, just be careful with lifetime subscriptions, a lot of developers got burned on that, do the math on what would be worth it to you. My suggestion is to look at modern plugins and see how they position themselves subscription wise (uipress and wpgridfilter are two plugins you can take a look at.) I don’t use your plugin because I have just found about it and at the moment there’s not a specific need to install it (I run a growing woocommerce store), but if I ever do I’d want to pay you 49/year. Best of luck.

Yes. I’m trying to think strategically about when and if I would offer lifetime pricing. Definitely don’t want to get burnt out. Will take a look at the plugins you suggested. Thanks.

Noted about the reason for not using ASE yet… and thanks again for the intent to support my work. Much appreciated.
