• Hello:

Learnpress combined with Woocommerce allows to sell courses from the online store. It’s possible to associate a course to a product and therefore, when the user buys the product, he or she will be automatically enrolled in the course. Also, it’s possible associate different courses to one product so that automatic enrollment after purchase is in several courses at the same time.

However, many times, the course seller needs to offer options on the same course, using product variations this would be possible. For example:

A History course that you offer in English and Spanish. Or a Computing course that has a basic and expert level. Learnpress forces to create two products to sell those two courses, when it could be sold on a single product page, using the variation dropdown menu, if LP allowed to associate a course to each variation, instead of to the product.

The website owner is forced to create as many products as courses they have, and the user is forced to buy from different products, when they could choose from several course options within the same product page.

I think this is a bad user experience for both.

Also for add-ons. You can sell the basic course or the basic course plus an extra. These would be two attributes that would make two variations of the product. By assigning a course to each variation, the student could buy and enroll in different courses from the same product page, for similar courses where only have to choose the desired option/variation.

I think this would work for many Learnpress users (all those who sell courses with slight variations and who don’t want to complicate the purchase process for their students).

    Thanks for your attention.
    Regards.

    Hi desawebsup,

Thanks for your feedback. This is the first time we’ve received a suggestion like that. It’s a good idea, and we’ll discuss and decide if we can develop this function in the future.

    Thank you so much.

Never? I find it incredible. Has anyone ever needed to sell the same type of course with different options, which enroll students in different courses?

Selling courses is not very different in the technical part from selling shoes or t-shirts: colors, sizes, etc… A seller of t-shirts doesn’t have a product for each variation of the same t-shirt: T-shirt L, T-shirt M, T-shirt XL… He has a single product, with the variations integrated within it and on the same product page, the user buys by choosing options.

With courses it’s the same. If I sell a History course in English, French and Spanish, I don’t need three products. Just one product, with three attributes/variations that enroll students in a different course each one of them. The purchase is faster and more logical.

Thanks for taking the suggestion into account.

The plugin is very good and with some adjustments it could be better. I will post other suggestions.

    Regards.

    – Yes, but it is a fact. Previously, no one has had requirements like yours. No one has discussed different options for choosing courses on a product. You can search on Google with “LearnPress”. Most questions and requirements are about paid memberships and buying courses as package, like upsells.

    Thank for your feedback.

Ok, I hope this is something you’ll implement in the near future.

    It would be very helpful.

    Hello Brian…

On this suggestion, Learndash has it for example. It’s a native function of its add on connection with Woocommerce, so the courses are associated with products but also with product variations.
On the other hand, it also communicates with Woo Subscriptions, for product/courses purchases by subscription, automatically un-enrolling the students if they cancels the subscription (the other function that Learnpress lacks too).

Tips to make the plugin better and maybe be able to sell it in a yearly payment… (but for that you have to improve it).

    Best Regards…

    Hi Desa_Web_Sup,

Thank for your feedback, we’ll discustion to improve that logic with product variations. About Woo Subscription, automatically un-enrolling the students if they cancels the subscription, we’re try develop it.

    Thanks.
