    Hi,

Right now, when adding a new listing, the Category dropdown contains ALL categories or subcategories (in my case). Also two Top categories may contain the same Name for Subcategories, for example “Furniture” subcat may be at For Sale and also in Services. Or “Home & Garden” the same.

The is somehow confusing, having a lot of subcategories. There are two ways to make this better.

    1. Make the categories dropdown to include Top category and the Childs below with some padding at the left.

    2. The best way is to have actually two level selection. One dropdown to select Top Category and then in the second dropdown selector to include ONLY the child subcategories of the Top category. This is harder to do, because some admin may have more than 2 levels. Still method (2) is what ALL Major Directory and Classifieds sites use.

I hope you forward this to your developers for evaluation

    Thanks

I posted that already by mistake in an other topic, so here it is again:

The same should be done in the Search Gutenberg Block. A tree list for the categories.

Otherwise users do not know where a child category belongs.

Also there should be an option if the poster can USE the TOP level Category to post or not.

It seems that disabling Lazy load option, makes things better in category parent/child selection.
