here’s a cool tip to make your plugin even better …
Using {username}, {first_name}, {last_name}, {display_name}, {nickname} and {email} in menus, in some cases the theme breaks due to the amount of characters. Example: Let’s use the option to capture the user’s {nickname}. If a user uses a fancy word with 20, 30, 40 characters, it can make the site look totally distorted, you know?
It has css palliative solutions, using text-overflow, but I don’t recommend it because if users use sub menus it will break the theme too. Simple and efficient solution is using php itself as a substr…

@pedrorafael – I can see how it might be useful. I have added it to our issue tracker, but we will need to see how it might actually work in terms of an editing experience or how you add those limits. Do we add them to the menu item as a whole, or on a per code basis.
