Suggestion: Link if Post is within the same Category

Thank you for your suggestion. Do you mean that it should only link if the target link is a post on your website in the same category ?

I mean that both the target post and the post that will contain the link should be in the same category.

And of cource to be optional.

This concerns the internal linking. because i do so to promote some top pages of mine (apart from affilate links)

I would like to add to the above that apart from using the plugin for affiliates, i’m using it also with great results for 100-150 internal pages linking.

You should add the internal linking information to your plugin’s description. Because is seems to work great. Even with my caching plugin.

Yes, I will add that too, as there are also other users who use this plugin this way. I just thought that there are already other plugins better at this and I focused the plugin on external links.

There are a couple of plugins excusively for internal linking (having a lot of options for internal linking) they both are not supported and updated. I had to drop one of them because it doesn’t work with PHP 7. Go figure.

There is one other very good but it uses tags to link and that makes extremely slow and almost unusable because of excess server load.

Then i found yours that seems to work very well for everything. And if you think about it, it doesn’t matter if links are internal or external.

If this is the case, then I can also add some internal linking features, like an automatic post selector, like the one on “insert link” button in the post editor. I can also add a box in the post editor to automatically add keywords that the post should be linked for.

I also hate tag linking, because tags are meant to be used for something else and you can’t control very well which links you are showing.

What other features do you think will make the plugin better for internal linking ?

I will have to review my logs and write down a few more suggestions. And post here when i’m ready. The next couple of days that is.
