Suggestion? music uploads

Yes, uploads and such would be well beyond the scope of this plugin. I’ve heard that before though and may consider doing something like that, but most likely as a separate, probably premium plugin. ??

As it is, the players and galleries all originate from the respective sources, so anything like autoplay would come from YouTube, BandCamp, etc.

Some other suggestions:

Ability to pre-populate the widgets with the site default URL’s
Specific “edit my widget” link on a widget which only displays for the user who’s profile is shown and takes them directly to the field edit page.
Ability to change the field names as displayed to the user, to allow Them to be more specific to the site.
The ability to set the widget to be none user profile, global widget, so that I Display a site video on my homepage for example (as well as having profile widgets for users) another deviation? Maybe a different plugin, but a modified version of the existing one.

Just nice to haves, Item 1 would be really nice.

The reason behind items one and two one is that it would be nice to let the users know the widgets are there and they can edit them – to make it obvious that they are there for them to customise and still maintain a nice page layout. If I hide them when empty it will not be obvious to the user that they are there for them to change, and if I do not hide them then the page will look a bit crap.

The link to the field edit page is good idea. That could be in addition to the customizable empty widget message.

The idea behind that empty message was to encourage users to populate their widgets. but I know some people wanted to hide them if people didn’t have it populated, so I put in the “hide if empty” option too.

Global widgets would just be regular widgets though. I guess, it could be setup so the widget has some default content populated by the webmaster, but is personalized if the user populates the widget for their profile. That may be doable too.

Part of the rewrite is to allow for changing the group and field names. Another user emailed me about that too. Right now, the plugin grabs data from the profile fields by name, so changing the field names breaks everything. The rewrite will track the fields by their IDs, so I can grab that field’s data no matter what its named.
