Suggestion: SMTP Reply-to
-
Hello. Indeed ASE is a very complete suite, thank you for all the hard work!
I would like to make a suggestion in SMTP settings.
I host multiple websites and use a transactional SMTP service for mail sending. Since all SMTP services require a validated email address, and it is unfeasible for me to validate every single email address for every website that I host (plus, some of these clients prefer using Gmail or Hotmail addresses), I opted to set up a single generic sending address that I control.
This set up works just fine and mails reach the inbox without effort, but in order for visitors to be able to respond to these emails, I had to use the Easy WP SMTP plugin which includes an option to set the “Reply-to” address in outgoing messages.
So the result is that the visitor sees that the message came from my generic address but if he clicks on the Reply button in their email client, the reply will be sent to my client’s address instead.
My suggestion is for you to add this Reply-To field in ASE’s settings. And weirdly enough, it seems that most WordPress SMTP plugins *do not* have such an option, I had to test various plugins before settling on Easy WP SMTP.
