Having used Masteriyo for some time now, I would like to make a couple of suggestions to help improve the plugin.

    1) I do not know which question types are planned for future. I understand from a reply to a post here that, for example, “Essay” (or “Multi-line Text”) is already planned for the pro version. I believe one other very useful question type would be “Content” (as it appears in Lifter LMS) or “Description” (as in appears in Moodle [https://docs.moodle.org/311/en/Description_question_type]) or “Title” (as it appears in Forma LMS [https://docs.formalms.org/reference-guide/learning-objects/test.html]). This is not a question but a page where instructions, descriptions, media files, etc. can be added. It is extremely useful when, for example, a quiz consists of more than one section and when each section features different types of questions. When one section is over, instructions/explanations for the next section can be given in the “Content/Description” and this can be followed by section two, and so on. Also, it can be used – if it supports media files – for listening comprehension (students listen to or watch something and see the questions after that).

    2) A “Ticket” system will be helpful for teachers and it will attract more people to Masteriyo. Users hardly know what lies behind a feature in a website. Teachers use Masteriyo (or any other script) but they do not anything about this script; therefore, they cannot make suggestions or send feedback – they need to contact the website administration for this. If the teacher is provided with a “Ticket” link in the course creation process (perhaps a pop-up button or a form partly visible on the right or left margin), they can then contact plugin developers directly whenever they face a problem, have a suggestion, etc. They will also know more about Masteriyo and will help spread the word.

    Hi @hakangur,

Firstly, thanks for your suggestions as always. ??

    1. This feedback has been duly noted. Will contact you later on this when we further work on its development.

    2. A ticket system directly in the course creation process, we will think on this. However, we are already working on something similar on this. We are working on About Masteriyo sub-menu page that appears under Masteriyo Page where there will be all useful links like contacting us, documentation link, translation link and more.. What do you think on this?

I understand that these links will be on the Dashboard for the administrator. In what I suggest as a ticket system, teachers will be the target. Administrators already know Masteriyo but teachers do not know it. Also, currently, teachers can ask the web administrator to help or assist them – and the web administrator will then contact you. A ticket system eliminates this “buffer” will be eliminated.

I know that you are trying to keep Masteriyo as simple and straightforward as possible so that it loads quickly. Therefore, my suggestions might somehow not be fit for this purpose; I cannot say how much load these additional features will bring about.

    Still, yet another suggestion. ??

Currently, there are two types of content: lesson and quiz. As far as education is concerned, “document sharing” is the missing one. It should be possible for teachers to upload files into a course section for students to download (or just view). These can be PDF or ZIP files. In other words, under “Add New Content”, the alternatives can be “Add New Lesson”, “Add New Quiz”, and “Add New File” for a course section.

About showing some help link to Instructors:
Okay, I get your point. You are actually right and that’s a very good suggestion. ?? We will think of something on this.

About the ‘Add New File’, do you think this should be as a new content type completely? I mean eventually we will provide the option to add files for course (to be shown in course page) and option to add files within the lesson as well, but I am not sure if this should be shown as a unique content type just like lesson and quiz.

My suggestion stems from the fact that the option of adding files to the course is not available at the moment (unless I failed to see a file-upload feature that is already there – I am an old man). As you “will eventually provide the option to add files”, then it is of course up to you whether this should be a separate content type or not.
