Suggestions: Switching from Blubrry to Seriously Simple Podcasting?

    So firstly: I have one podcast which I’ve been doing for about 6 years which has 20+ episodes and a newer podcast with 10+ episodes. The old one is running on a WP install with the Blubrry “Powerpress” podcasting plugin and the new one is using Seriously Simple Podcasting.

    I find using Seriously Simple Podcasting to be MUCH BETTER, so I want to switch on the old podcast. Has anyone done this before, or have suggestions to offer on how to best do this without messing up my feed? I am concerned about messing something up in this process.

    Small second question: I notice that I cannot install the “Stats” extension – is this because I have WordPress 4.8? There is no install button ??

    Hi Charlie,

    Thanks for the post, and glad to hear that you’re enjoying Seriously Simple Podcasting in your newer show.

    With respects to migrating your info from using Powerpress I can tell you that almost all of the data from your show will transfer over identically to Seriously Simple Podcasting. The Post Meta is the same between the two plugins so things like media file URLs, durations, file size, etc. will all match up.

    Where are you hosting your media files? We offer concierge migration through our Seriously Simple Hosting platform if you’re looking for a hosting option for one or either of the shows.

    As for not being able to install the Stats module on WP 4.8 I’ve not seen that. We have it running on several of our installs and it’s working without any issues. Will have to dig into this a bit.

    I am hosting media files on my own server. I don’t think I need hosting, just want to turn off Blubrry and switch to your plugin since I find it better.

    I will double check on the stats plugin but I have had trouble installing it. When I click the “Install now” button nothing happens. Same thing with the other extensions, also. Kind of strange.
