suitable for matrimony service?
-
Hi
Great plugin.
I was looking for a plugin that can be used to create a free matrimonial service blog. Do you think that this plug is suitable to be used for that purpose? I want to use about 52 sorting custom fields / search criteria for each gender.
Females will submit their info as a listing, while males will search those listings
I also hope to be able to let the user change the order of search criteria according to their preferences and priorities.Can this plugin do that please?
And another question please:
Can this plugin be integrated in an excising WP blog, as a category, or must I start a new WP installation for it?

1. Yes, “Advanced Classifieds & Directory Pro” can be used for matrimonial services. I would recommend starting from https://pluginsware.com/documentation/getting-started/
2. Yes, can be integrated in your existing WP Blog.
Thanks very much. I have a few questions please:
1- I’ve created a category, added a few listings, but when I go to the search page, it says: “No Results Found”.
I thought this page would have the custom fields that I’ve created for the user to use as search criteria. What am I missing here?2- Mine is a free service, so how can I hide the money part, things like: “payment history”, “your price” field when adding a new listing. etc?
3- Why doesn’t the user dashboard has a search tool, button or link? How do they access the advanced search?
4- Can the user search by multiple criteria? what is the maximum search custom fields that they can use in the search? I need to add 52 custom fields. Can they all be searchable? and if that’s too much, can the search results be searched? For example: if the maximum search criteria is 3 fields, when the result page comes up, can the user narrow their search within those results with another 3 search criteria, and so on until they find what they want more precisely?
5- How do I set the base location and default location? When I select it, the user sees only the children of what I selected in settings. How do I let them select from all locations that I have added?
Apologies for so many questions!
Is there a way to include all countries and cities of the world? it would be difficult to add them one by one..
1. The “Search Listings” page is supposed to show only your search results. Go to “Appearance => Widgets” and add “ACADP – Search” widget to your site’s sidebar. You will get a search form in your site’s sidebar, when you fill in the form and hit the submit button, you will be taken to the “Search Listings” page loaded with results.
You can use [acadp_search_form] shortcode to add the listings search form in any pages. So, adding this shortcode in the “Search Listings” page will show both the search form and the results together.
2. You can find option to hide “Price” field in the plugins general settings page.
To hide the “Payment History”, configure the “Payment History” setting to the default selection under “Pages” settings tab.
4. We don’t limit the count of custom fields in the search form. All the fields configured to show in the search form will get displayed.
5. Just reset the “base location” option back to the default setting.

Locations in our plugin is a custom taxonomy(acadp_locations). There are lot of plugins out there to import custom taxonomy terms in bulk. I would suggest you to try one of these plugins.
I haven’t tried any plugin so far. So, It’s hard to suggest any plugin for you.
I uploaded all the UK towns/cities directly into the database
there are files available (free) on the internet that hold all countries and cities, it should be possible with a little work to import these directly
I did however have to add the relevant county (state or province) manually to the file before upload.
If you upload say the countries file separately first, you can then find the allocated number for each. You can then in .csv file add this to the column for each county,state,province.
Then once that is uploaded you can then get the county,state,province code for each and allocate to correct column for the cities and towns in each
It sounds complicated but when using open office etc it is relatively easyAlso if you get the file completely wrong it wont let you upload it
That isn’t to say you can’t make mistakes though !
so always save the original un-edited last working file in caseIt worked for me and saved days of work, more if i was doing more than just the UK
Thanks very much for the answers.
How do I make search form field as a range instead of a specific choice? For example, the age field. A female would type a number as her age. But when someone searches for a suitable wife, I want to allow him to select a range of between say 20 and 25 years old, so that the result include all those who typed 20,21,22,23,24 or 25. Is that possible?I also need the opposite, so that a male states his age in the search form, say 27, so that the search result lists those females who selected a range of age, say 25-30 for the husband she’s looking for. Is that possible?
Also in “Placeholder Text” I need different text to display in the search form other than the placeholder text in the add list form. Is that possible?
And is there a way to exclude the location from the search form? I mean, I want the add list form to has location and contact info, but I don’t want the location to be required in the search form.
1. Sorry, we don’t have any “Range” field type at the moment to get this done. But, this is already in our roadmap and takes sometime. Kindly be patience.
2. Sorry, you cannot have a different placeholder text for the same custom field. Added to our TODO lists now.
3. Sure, you can hide the location from the search form.
If you’re using the “ACADP – Search” widget, you can find option for this in the widget back-end itself. I guess, you must be using the shortcode [acadp_search_form]. Then, kindly try using [acadp_search_form location=0]
Other shortcode attributes available are,
location=1|0
category=1|0
custom_fields=1|0
price=1|0- This reply was modified 7 years, 4 months ago by pluginsware.

Great. Many thanks for all the answers.
I’m trying a way around the range issue. Suppose I use checkboxes. If someone’s list has checkbox #3 ticked, I expected that she will appear in the search result of someone who checks #1, #2 and #3 , but unfortunately that doesn’t happen. Why?And regarding checkbox choices, when for example I add, for an age custom field, 80 choices, they display in one very long vertical column. Is there a way to display the choices in multi columns instead of just one?
And speaking of checkbox choices, the small tick box overlaps its name. They both show over each other. How can I fix that please?
And regarding the search form, can I set it to show a default category instead of null ?

Yes, this should work. I will need your site link to check this directly. Also, send me a screenshot of the back-end form where you have added the checkbox details.

Currently, the check-boxes in the search form are displayed as a block element. You can use CSS and make this to display inline.
Our next version is coming out with the multi-select option which can be used for the same. The multi-select box will be scaled to a particular height with a scrollbar at the right.

I will need your site link to check this.

Sorry, this is not possible.
