Yes, it should work. You should do a test moving of an image first to insure that it correctly updates links in a post or page. Note that this only works with files embedded in posts and pages.

I know what post that has all the images in the wrong date folder, doing a search&replace on that post won’t be too difficult. As long as they’re moved properly on the server, along with DB, keeps all tags and metadata in the media library I’m happy!

Just in case, is there a log file somewhere that I can keep a tab on while it’s moving everything to ensure nothing’s wrong?

Sorry to bother you again, but will I need to regenerate the thumbnails after moving? They’re all thumbnails in that post.

Yes you can generate thumbnails site wide or within individual folders. In a folder, select all image and click regenerate.

I meant if the thumbnails are going to stay in the old folder or move along with the photos(or maybe they’re removed?). Not really a huge issue, just good to know before I try it out.
