Super Admin login to subsite problem

For some reason, when I am logged in as super admin and in the network dashboard, whenever I try to access the dashboard of a subsite, the wordpress login screen appears and I have to re-login which then takes me to the main site admin where I need to then re-select the network admin and then the subsite I originally wanted and then after completing this loop, I can access the subsite dashboard. For each subsite I have to go through the same process. On other multisites, I am able to access subsites without needing to re-login. What might be causing this?
