Super cache broken? HELP!

WP Super Cache didn’t uninstall correctly or you tried to install w3 total cache before uninstalling supercache. Check out the “If all else fails” section of the Supercache docs. It’s exactly what you need to fix this.

Even the sites where I have done nothing are still showing this error in google crawl.

I cant even find the documentation you are talking about.. This sucks so bad I wish someone would actually tell me how to fix it rather than telling me to go read documentation they didnt link to.

One presumes that you’re aware of the location of the plugins directory, generally speaking. That should ALWAYS be the first place you go when you have a problem, for any plugin.

Also it’s listed in the readme.txt of the plugin, as well as linked too FROM the plugin IIRC.

One think I have learned in life is anyone who uses the word “presumes” has an inferiority complex and is about to dump it on you. Thanks for not letting me down!

Anyone have any help full advice on how to actually fix this pathway problem rather than telling me to go read pages and pages of documentation?

I just tried to change Caching plugin from WP supercache to w3 total cache and when I went to enable w3 I get this..

The path found in the database (/home/users/web/b1769/moo.southiecab/bostoncabtaxi//wp-content/uploads) is inconsistent with the current paths found on your server. Please manually adjust the upload path either in miscellaneous settings or in the site’s edit page if in network mode.

Unfortunately he probably can’t get at the settings page if his wp-config.php is broken, but it still stands that the documentation is the first place to look, and a quick Google search will point someone having this problem at the exact page they need.

BostonCab – as a website owner it’s still expected that you are willing to get your hands dirty configuring and fixing problems on your site. This includes becoming at least somewhat familiar with how the underlying code works. You wouldn’t try to change the tyre on your care without knowing you should loosen the nuts on the wheel before raising the car up? (Or you’d call someone to do it, and pay them. Same with websites)

That depends on wether or not you actually attempted the directions listed in documentation.

Did you remove the cache line from your WP-config file? Did you manually remove the files? Did you delete the .htaccess lines?

I don’t see anywhere when you’ve told us what you DID do (except for installing W3TC, and call me names, thanks for that, way to win friends and influence people). So let’s scrap the attitude we perceive from each other.

Hi, I’m helpful volunteer Ipstenu. What HAVE you done to attempt to uninstall WPSC? I would suggest removing all caching tools for a moment, until you have fully uninstalled, and THEN go back and install whichever tool you want.
