SuperCache plugin removal problems

I uninstalled the SuperCache plugin because of some problems I was having and I tried to remove the files according to the instructions found here:

For some reason my server keeps saying the removal of those files failed and I can’t remove them. The permissions are set properly.

Any suggestions?
