Superfluous strings being appended to URLs
-
Hey all,
I have a concern about people appending unnecessary fields to URLs on my site through GET requests. For example, if my permalinks are set up like so:
https://www.mysite.org/2006/03/permalink.html
I’ve been seeing, in my logs, people doing this:
https://www.mysite.org/2006/03/permalink.html?ABCDEFGH
…which returns permalink.html normally. I’m a bit nervous about this – it seems like a security risk, and I think requests made with the latter format should go to my 404 page. Is there a way to modify WordPress to make it do this?
