Information not being populated on Privacy Policy Page

    Howdy.

    I’m going through the setup tutorial and for the generated privacy policy I entered the Supervisory Authority of my choice from the linked list. However, the information is not populating in the completed privacy policy page.

    I know it is being saved, because when I go to Tools – Privacy – Privacy Policy, the data that I entered is saved there. Again, it’s simply not being populated into the privacy page itself.

    Another example is in the very first line of the Privacy Policy, “is committed to safeguarding your privacy. ” The first word, which should be the company or website name, is also not populated.

    latest wp release: 4.9.6

    Please advise.

  • I found that I had to go to Tools – Privacy – Privacy Policy and click on the ‘Save & Generate policy’ button and then copy the generated text into the Privacy Policy page that was created at setup.

    Hi there!

    Yes, the Privacy Policy generator functions as a generator – it doesn’t update an already existing policy. Otherwise, it would overwrite the changes which you make in the text.
