No answers to these questions from support or from the forum so I guess no one knows,
Yoast lets you set up meta description for posts and other categories under the Titles & Metas Tag- Yoast SEO ok fine, understood
Okay now it does not run the stop light seo helper in the new posts section, yet it does in the category section only on my Schema premium wordpress theme, Dont know if that matters or not, does it? any how.
Number one question, how do you insert meta description for individual posts, as the generic one under “posts” in the Titles & Metas – Yoast SEO main tab will not be the same as your specific target word individual word press POSTS. Individual posts target specific keywords so you do not want the default info used for all your posts as they do not target specific topics in your posts. see?
So I can get green bullets for every last thing up to one where it says no meta data description indicated for my work but I have to produce my work in the category section and not the post section as it does not work there. I have to create in the category section where the seo works, then copy it over to the post section. Why?
why does yoast only work in the category area of the posts tab and not in the posts themselves?
IMPORTANT QUESTION…Do I write my post in the category section, then copy it, and then paste it to the posts section and then delete it from the category section after? Leaving only a meta description behind in the categories tab when done? Or wipe everything out of the categories section after? Did the meta description transfer to the Post?
Or Will that description left in the categories tag then act as the meta description?
Trying to figure out where and how the meta description is handled for individual posts, and if I have to do something manually to override the generic meta description in the general tab Titles & Metas Tag- Yoast SEO—-and yes there is a general section for meta description for posts in the general seo tab, but how does that help my targeted keyword and descriptions for my many unique posts? Posts are not a static page requiring a static meta description. Posts need their own. Is this plug in doing its job in this regard?
Now if the answer is Buy the Premium version, will it do exactly what I want it to described above? Or will I still get a generic meta description for all posts area in the general tab? and not be any further ahead
Thanks for your time.
Sincerely,In conclusion,,,,Plugin seems real buggy, there are a lot of unanswered questions about this plugin on wordpress forums, and a lot of one star reviews. That cannot be coincidence…. now for any help on my questions….
