    Hi,

We have a use case where we’d like to give users with the Author role the ability to add redirects to old URLs of their articles. Unfortunately, to do that at the moment, we’d need to give them the Administrator role. This is not desirable, as that would give essentially unrestricted access to all staff and introduce a lot of additional security risks.

Can this plugin support custom capabilities that can be assigned to Roles (e.g. via the WPFront User Role Editor), so that we can enable access to it to Authors without having to make everyone an admin? E.g., can_edit_301redirects, can_view_301redirects etc.

    Hi,

At the moment, no, we don’t have the option for that and only users with ‘manage_options’ capabilities can edit redirects. We have it on our ToDo list but so far just 2-3 other people asked about this so it would be a significant change to the plugin to add an option for that and not affect the behavior of existing users who assume it can only be accessed by Admins.
