• I am currently using Iubenda to help block cookies unless consent is given. I’d like to upgrade to utilize their GTM consent mode compatible solution, per their recommendation. However, since GTM4WP is adding my code to my website’s header, I am not quite sure how if I can edit the tag to make the necessary adjustments. Any advice?

    Hi,

The best would be if they would build a GTM tag template that would allow you to install their CMP using pure GTM features:

    https://developers.google.com/tag-manager/templates/consent-apis

Without this, you will need a WordPress developer who can help you to add the required codes into your child theme.

Ah I see. I can make their suggested changes to the GTM code in my child theme. How can I use GTM4WP to create the dataLayer, but ensure it doesn’t install the actual GTM code(s) on my website?

    Hi,

If you set the placement option in GTM4WP to “Off”, data layer will be still created but GTM container code will be not outputed.

Perfect. I thought that was only for the <noscript>. Thanks for clarifying! Keep up the great work.
