    Hi Helga,
thanks for your request. Yes, it is technically feasible and i thought about it several times. But i have a problem with that: if one crop (especially) the original full-size image there is no “backup”. My plugin, so far, is non “destructive”. All thinks can be undone. So a crop off all images-sizes would mean, much more work to have all functionalities bullet-proof.

Also: WordPress has build in functionalities for crop the original image. Please have a look. I know, it would be smarter to have all controls in one place. It would be even smarter if wordpress has the functionality to determine the crop-position in the first place.

I appreciate the reply. In fact, I’d forgotten about the built-in cropping functionality. While I think it would be better to have all the cropping in the same place, but it solves my problem for now. Thanks!

The problem is that the build-in functionality lacks in to ways:
    – it can not crop the defined hard-crop-images
    – it has a bad usability-design
I do not even teach my clients to use it, instead i recommend everyone to do image-manipulation before upload. Would be nice to have a more solid and usable solution.
