    Okay I’ve taken a look at oEmbed in comments and it looks like adding oEmbed support in comments is possible.

    However, adding oEmbed support in the TinyMCE editor may be more involved. If the way it’s supported by default in the WordPress post editor could be duplicated that could work. I’m not sure how that’s being done though.

    I’ll add oEmbed support to the features requested list and look into it when I have some time.

    For what it’s worth, in the previous WordPress version I found a little hack to enable the tinyMCE editor for comments, and this did work with oEmbed.

    I think that the latest WordPress/TinyMCE version (or the way you’ve implemented it) results in p tags being added more eagerly, which is the main problem.
