• I have an active Yoast premium subscription and I want to migrate to Yoast for one of my sites but I don’t think the support wants me to help. They gave me the migration guides and instructions over the email but you cannot guarantee the success of a migration, which primarily involves keyword migration and redirection. The support asks me to back up the database, which is a reasonable request, but I doubt they will assist if the migration fails or becomes stuck in the middle of the process. They will probably recommend reverting to the previous backup or blame the hosting for errors. So the question remains: how do you migrate to Yoast without any issues?

For many years, Yoast was the must-have SEO plugin for many bloggers and I was among the ones who recommended Yoast to many. Things have changed since then; the premium cost has gone up (even for a single site the cost is too high when compared to competitors), they don’t care if you don’t renew the subscription or move to another SEO plugin, reported bugs are dismissed and attributed to hosting, and most importantly the support is poor, etc.

    Hi @prajwaldesai.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Yoast SEO plugin.

While we do have options to import and export the Yoast SEO settings, redirects, and other data, there are certain aspects such as the focus keyphrases and other data points, that are a bit more complex and will always vary, due to it having to do with databases between websites. If installing Yoast SEO and configuring the settings again on the new site isn’t an option, please feel free to contact support and we’ll try to sort it out as best as we can.

We appreciate that you’ve recommended Yoast in the past. We understand your stance might differ now, but we’d like to believe that we still offer good value for our premium plugin, even with the pricing from other offerings. Such as 24/7 live support, and complete access to Yoast SEO Academy, and the presence in the community and how we give back to WordPress. While we would love to keep you as a customer, we also do understand if based on your needs and experience, you would try another offering or solution.

As for your experience where reported bugs are dismissed and attributed to hosting, and that you find support poor, please feel free to reach out to our support team and reference this forum thread, and we’ll try to tackle these issues in a concrete manner.
