Support our troops…Need help with my wordpress PLEASE!!!

So, I am trying to be vigilant and do something great by making an all around informative and relatable website for soldiers and all things related. With that said….I am struggling with this blog thing as I have no experience with wordpress or anything of the such. Anyhow, I went online and got a theme, but its just not functioning 100% right. So I was wondering if you guys could take a look and help me out. If you can build a fully functional media/picture/news worthy blog style wordpress that can look professional and not tacky.
