Support ? [Plugin: WordPress Popular Posts] Ignore Pages When No Wiget Used
-
Ikki24,
I’m evaluating WordPress Popular Posts to see if I can use it to query posts by category, GD Stars Rating, and number of page views to create custom wigets that will function similarly to the “sections” on a typical news site that show the top five or six most popular/highly rated posts with a link to see the whole list.
I can’t believe that WP doesn’t natively count the number of views a post gets when a reader clicks on a post’s link, but….
The problem I’m having is that WPP wants to also count pages. Now I guess I could go in and hack the WPP code to set the default behavior to not count pages (only posts), but that seems inelegant and would require renewing the hack whenever there’s an update to WPP.
I don’t want to add one of WPP’s ready made wigets to the site at this time, I just want it to count post views, and nothing else. Is there a tag or shortcode that can be used to control/alter the default behavior when not using a wiget?
TIA
Ed Tiley
