Support Requests—Read Me First
-
If you are having trouble with this plugin, please try these troubleshooting steps first:
- Verify that you have your channel ID and API key set correctly in the settings page
- Check to see if you have any referrer restrictions set on your API key. Since API requests come from your server rather than clients’ browsers, there is no referrer set.
If you still can’t get it to work:
- Go to the YouTube Live Settings page, set the debugging option to “Yes,” and save the changes.
- start a live stream, wait a minute or two to make sure the caches have time to clear, and pull up your streaming page, making sure you’re logged in WordPress.
- Right-click on the “Check Again” button and choose “Inspect” or “Inspect Element”
- Immediately underneath the highlighted text that comes up, look for a large chunk of commented-out YouTube Live debugging code
- Click on the debugging code to select it, then right-click on it and choose Copy > Copy Outer HTML
- Make sure to remove API keys from the output, and include it with your support request. If you leave the API keys, other people will be able to use them and you will hit your quota much more quickly.
