We’re strongly considering wpForo for our discussion group for external users on our nonprofit site. We currently have: 1. A word press site for landing pages, educational materials and blog posts 2. A custom web app for registered members 3. Proposed: wpForo for discussions.

Our members register on our website which supports the usual login, logout, change password, forgot password, etc. We’d like to have wpForo use our Authorization and Register routines. The documentation (here) references “Custom Authorization URLs” but states

these options are only for other plugin compatibility.

My specific question, since our application is not a WordPress plugin, will our Auth and Reg routines work correctly?

    Hi @geomanning41,
Thank you for your interest in wpForo. Please note, that wpForo members are based on WordPress user system. So the Registration and Login also the same, if your custom Auth and Reg solutions use WordPress users system and register users in WordPress database then it’ll work for wpForo too.

The documentation only says that if you have other reg/login pages you can put those page URLs in according options to redirect wpForo Login/Reg menu URLs to your custom pages.

We are considering to use wpforo for our website. Our current website is not a wordpress site. I have a few questions:

    1) Does wpforo support single sign on so if a user is login on my site user is automatically login to the forum? If yes then how can we authenticate user with wpforo?

    2) how secure is wpforo?

    3) Is there a plugin for wpforo private messaging?

    Thanks
