Support Topics and Ageing

It would be useful, when scanning for support topics, if they could show the ageing of the topic and/or whether it’s closed for discussion? I am finding it really hard to find an open topic discussion on blacklisting words for comment spam – all of the discussions I go look at are closed and I had a question to ask.
