Hi, why does the SVG option show the icon as an image? I have uploaded my .svg icon but it is wrapped in tags and because of this, it doesn’t change colors together with my nav menu items in the :hover state. Is there any way to fix this so that it works like an actual icon and not an image?

  • Hi @tubescreamer,

Thanks for choosing the Menu Icons plugin!

Please provide us the URL to your site so we can suggest a CSS code for that icon.

    Thank you!

    Hi @luciamarinescu

    Here’s a link: https://aaronw57.sg-host.com/

You can see the icon next to “Categories” in the header.

    Hello @tubescreamer!

    Thanks for providing the URL!

I checked your site and the icon from the Category item changes the color on hover the same as the text itself – screenshot. Let me know if you still encounter this issue.

    Have a nice day!

@luciamarinescu Sorry, since it took a while for a response, I ended up just using one of the default icon libraries instead of the SVG option. The SVG option does not work like an svg though, it just works like an image wrapped in tags. So the color isn’t able to be changed on hover. Maybe you can check on your end, using the SVG option and uploading an SVG icon and you’ll see what I mean.

    Hi @tubescreamer!

I checked the SVG icons from another plugin as well and the behavior is the same, they don’t automatically change colors on hover. However, this could be achieved with some custom CSS as it is explained, for example, in this article.

    Have a nice day!
