    Hello,

I was added as a contributor to a certain plugin. So I did svn checkout of the plugin code from https://plugins.svn.www.ads-software.com/that-plugin, made changes in a file and then when i give svn ci -m ‘changes description’ it asks for user name and password. When i give the username and password, i get the following error message:

svn: E175013: Commit failed (details follow):
svn: E175013: Access to ‘/!svn/me’ forbidden

I have checked the URL, username and password and all are correct.

Can anyone help me with this? Thank you.

    Hiya,

It would appear you aren’t added as a committer to any plugins on this account (there’s a difference between a contributor and a committer), only a committer can add code to SVN, this is managed from the plugins Advanced View page, in the right hand sidebar there.

After one is added, there is a delay before the changes take effect, so you won’t have instant access, wait an hour or so after being added as a committer before giving it a go again.

    Thank you Marius, you rock!

I was added as the committer and now I am able to commit.

I’m having the same problem. I’m the maker of a plugin, the only developer attached to it, and I’m trying to upload some important updates. All I get is “Access to ‘/!svn/me’ forbidden”, repeatedly. I’ve tried http and https, I’ve double checked the case of the url, I’ve done everything I can think of.

    SVN sucks.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

As for your issue, you should have received an email from the Plugins team where you can contact them with any issue you may have relating to your own plugin, but the error message means your username or password is wrong.
